The waste oil problem

Every year over 6 billion litres of dirty used oil is generated from the internal combustion engine market. This is the largest amount of liquid, non-aqueous hazardous waste in the world.

Why should we care about waste oil?

Environmental

  • 1 drop of oil pollutes millions litres of water; making it unfit to drink, and fatally dangerous to wildlife.
  • Burning of used oil increase GHG emissions.
  • Re-use is 60% more efficient producing 50% to 80% less CO2.

Legislation

  • European Circularity legislation is just around the corner,  putting in place extra measures  to ensure that used oil is re-used wherever possible.

World's resources

  • Oil is a natural, finite resource. Burning it makes little financial and environmental sense.

Today only about one third of the used oil gets re-refined. The remainder is either lost in the environment or burned as fuel.

The good news is that engine oil is a renewable resource. In fact, it is possible to re-refine used engine oil, restoring it to a good-as-new quality, so that it can be reused over and over again!

At CirculOil we have developed a unique patented oil cartridge and closed loop circular ecosystem that can effectively and efficiently manage every single oil change.

Within the unique Circular Ecosystem, used oil is collected, in a strictly segregated form to guarantee its quality and the absence of contaminants from other fluids.

This highly segregated used oil can now become a valuable resource that will undergo the re-refining process. The output will be re-refined base oil with properties comparable to fresh base oil.
